Control Concepts
Chanhassen, MN
Requiring a new and expanded facility for their growing manufacturing company, Control Concepts partnered with Legend Companies as their mechanical contractor for a design/build mechanical systems. In addition to plumbing and piping systems, HVAC systems, and full building automation for their 55,000 Square Foot facility, Legend Companies also designed and implemented
one-of-a-kind ventilation systems for Control Concepts’ manufacturing processes.
Uponor North America
Apple Valley, MN
For over a decade, Legend Companies has provided HVAC, Plumbing, and Piping construction, emergency service and maintenance services for Uponor’s multi-building campus comprising nearly 500,000 square feet in Apple Valley, MN. Legend also designs and installs one-of-a-kind process water and ventilation systems, allowing Uponor to produce PEX pipe effectively and efficiently.

The Depot
Minneapolis, MN
A living, breathing tribute to Minnesota history, The Depot Event Center in Minneapolis, MN has seen many iterations, from it’s original use as a Central Railway station in the late 1800’s, to a museum, a casino, and an ice skating rink until most recently, when Legend Companies was asked to design and install new HVAC and building automation systems to convert the space to a distinctive and inspiring event center and gala venue. With a nod to the building’s historic past and cultural significance, Legend delivered in a big way, providing comfortable and efficient spaces without compromising the aesthetic look and feel of this important example of Minnesota building history.
Whirlyball Twin Cities
Bloomington, MN
Legend Companies was able to flex its design/build muscle on the HVAC and Plumbing construction at Whirlyball, Twin Cities. Meeting the challenges of integrating Whirlyball courts, bowling lanes, laser tag rooms, and multiple kitchens and bars, the creative teams at Legend Companies hit a home run with the final result- one of the most unique, interesting, and fun entertainment facilities in the state.
Uponor North America, Annex I and II
Apple Valley, MN
Legend Companies provided design/build HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, and building automation services for the transformation of an old bus garage into a 140,000 square foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing and office building, located on Uponor’s main campus in Apple Valley, MN. The project was certified LEED Silver, and included water-less urinals, rainwater reclamation, and ultra-high efficient mechanical systems.
Spoon and Stable
Minneapolis, MN
One of the most acclaimed restaurants to hit Minneapolis in years, Spoon and Stable is a bucket-list experience for Twin Cities diners. Legend Companies was selected to provide design and installation of the HVAC and kitchen ventilation systems for this unique restaurant space, featuring an open kitchen grill located in the dining room and a spectacular wine room, both housed in a historic pre-war horse stable. The HVAC implementation was critical in providing maximum comfort and effectiveness while not detracting from the décor of the old world feel of the space.
Hmong College Prep Academy
St. Paul, MN
Providing HVAC and building automation services for a multi-building campus, Legend Companies completed several building additions and remodels over a course of 3 years. A pillar of the local community and a neighborhood gem, Legend is proud to continue to provide mechanical service and maintenance for this wonderful facility that is a great example of the diverse culture that St. Paul has become known for.
St. Catherine University
St. Paul, MN
Legend Companies recently completed multiple mechanical and plumbing projects over several phases at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN. The design/build projects were completed during the times where the students and staff were occupying many of the facilities, making the planning and communication of the work critical. Additionally the century-old buildings created unforeseen challenges as the crews at Legend completed their scopes, but working closely with the owner and general contractor to develop vital foresight, Legend successfully implemented projects including ductwork and VAV systems, steam and hydronic heating systems, condensate piping, air valves, controls, radiators, replacement of outdated plumbing systems, and medical gas work.
The Armory
Minneapolis, MN
Originally built for use by the National Guard, the Armory Building, a downtown Minneapolis landmark, has housed civic events, concerts, political conventions and sporting events. After years of vacancy and neglect, the venue’s rebirth in December 2017 as a premier concert and entertainment facility created an opportunity for Legend Companies to lend their expertise to another Minnesota treasure. Legend was chosen to provide building automation and comfort controls for this new multi-purpose facility which had dynamic comfort needs. The project was a resounding success, and was completed in time to host the 2019 Super Bowl festivities.
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church
Burnsville, MN
Legend Companies was privileged to partner with Prince of Peace Lutheran Church when they decided to expand their facility, bringing the worship team, family ministry and administrative staff together in one building, along with providing a new preschool space. Legend provided HVAC, piping, and building automation systems for their new building expansion and additions.
Central Lakes Crossing
Baxter, MN
Recently, Legend Companies completed the HVAC and Plumbing portions for Central Lakes Crossing, a 90,000 square foot, multi-tenant retail shopping center located along Highway 371 in Baxter, Minnesota- in the heart of the Brainerd Lakes area. This project included both shell and tenant build-out HVAC and plumbing scopes for retail tenants including Dick’s Sporting Goods, TJ Maxx, PetSmart, and Ulta Beauty. This project was a great example of Legend’s ability to successfully complete large construction projects outside of the Twin Cities area market.
Uponor North America-Hutchinson
Hutchinson, MN
After purchasing a 240,000 square foot building in Hutchinson, MN, Uponor looked to Legend Companies to help transform a shuttered technology manufacturing facility into a modern and efficient PEX production facility. Inheriting a dated mechanical plant and mis-applied process systems, Legend nonetheless dug in and repaired, replaced, and updated existing HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, and automation systems and redesigned existing processes to allow Uponor to take advantage of their infrastructure to produce PEX pipe. Not only was Legend successful, but they did it 6 months ahead of schedule, allowing Uponor to begin operation within 1 year of purchase of the building.
Leafline Labs
Cottage Grove, MN
One of only 2 producers of medical cannabis in Minnesota, Leafline Labs recently decided to expand the footprint of their Cottage Grove production plant. The new development consisted of existing building remodels and a new climate-controlled, 40,000 square foot grow facility. Legend was tasked with installing new HVAC systems to maintain critical environmental conditions in addition to new plumbing and piping systems to support the grow functions in the facility.

As a full-service contract manufacturer for the world’s premier food companies, Hearthside Foods has found a full-service partner in Legend Companies. Legend provides Facility Services, HVAC, maintenance and emergency service, and plumbing and piping services for their facilities in Shakopee and Lakeville, MN.
